It all started with the piano

I am a human being who grew up in a musical family

in a very liberal/very segregated & super cool/super confusing  place called

Berkeley, CA

 

My career in music began while still a student at Berkeley High School,

as a pianist/musical director/booking agent/graphic designer/marketing specialist/driver/composer/arranger 

with my legendary mama

The Dynamic Miss Faye Carol.

Shortly after becoming a professional musician, 

I also fell in love with teaching music & my career as a teaching artist began.

​

Some years later I discovered yet another aspect of music that I was instantly

passionate about- music production.  Since it was difficult to find rappers to produce

that spit lyrics that were not harmful, I began writing rhymes myself & found that I

also enjoyed being an M.C.

After realizing that Christian rap genre wasn't in fact a good fit for me,

I took some time out of the spotlight & focused on writing new material, teaching music, and doing low profile gigs around the Bay Area.  During this time I enrolled myself into my own home-school to unlearn all of the things that made it difficult to be myself. Gratefully my enrollment in youtube University enabled me to effectively learn 

about myself/health/history/business/tech/relationships/the english language

so that I could move forward as a nonjudgemental, confident, healthy human being.
